Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digitalisation Krzysztof Gawkowski appointed new members of the NASK Scientific Council. Professor Krzysztof Szczypiorski is among the experts who have joined the Council from the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology at the University of Warsaw (WEiTI). Professor Szczypiorski is head and co-founder of the Division of Cybersecurity at the Institute of Telecommunications at WEiTI, co-founder and head of the POB Research Centre for Cybersecurity and Data Science at WUT, as well as head of the MBA Cybersecurity Management postgraduate programme at the WUT Business School.

A research team consisting of scientists from the Warsaw University of Technology and the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) has begun work on the identification of metabolic and structural changes in tissues of overloaded joints in sport horses. In the future, research findings may help to prevent the occurrence of osteoarthritis (OA).

An interdisciplinary team from the Warsaw University of Technology has begun work on the concept of creating a network of smart devices (equipped with IoT technology) on our Central Campus. One such device will be a "smart lantern," equipped with a set of sensors, actuators, and systems for communication with other similar devices. Implementing this solution will provide users of the WUT campus with various conveniences, such as reducing light pollution.

For five days of intensive workshop work, more than 200 people discussed and drew possible visions for the spatial development of the Warsaw University of Technology campus. The results of the workshop are now being compiled by designers from the KAMPUS.PW team and the most likely scenarios for the transformation of the buildings and areas of the Warsaw University of Technology will be presented.

Between 2011 and 2014, Professor Krzysztof Sibilski and his research team developed a prototype of an innovative launcher for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) that uses passive magnetic suspension. Continuing this work, his daughter, Anna Sibilska-Mroziewicz, Ph.D., under the supervision of Professor Edyta Ładyżyńska-Kozdraś, is defending her doctoral degree and co-designing a virtual model of the launcher, increasing the chance of its popularisation.

WUT researchers’ idea will help to estimate the risk and rate of arterial overgrowth and the risk of haemolysis in coronary artery disease. The project assumes the creation of three-dimensional models based on CT data, reflecting the geometries of the arteries.
