Researchers will focus on two areas: gender equality and public health

If you have information, you can effectively manage any ICT system, including transport. This assumption was used by the WUT researchers, who are developing proprietary methods of information quality assessment based on uncertainty modeling within the BEYOND POB grant. The implemented project is a joint effort of experts in transport, IT and telecommunications. 

There has been unflagging interest in quick biotests and biosensors. It became evident during the coronavirus pandemic. Mariusz Pietrzak, PhD, DSc, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Chemistry at WUT is working on devising new types of tests.

What springs to your mind when you hear “fuel of the future”? Hydrogen. And how about formic acid? Scientists from the Faculty of Chemical and Process Engineering at WUT are developing a fuel cell powered by formic acid with high stability and increased efficiency.

A team of researchers from the Faculty of Chemistry at the Warsaw University of Technology developed composite materials which will facilitate the creation of a new generation lithium-sulfur cell. The research was financed under the IDUB research grant.

Mast cells are among the most important cells of the immunological system. They participate in many processes in our bodies, both normal and pathological ones. Although their interactions with other cells are frequently under research, very few researchers focus on demonstrating real-time changes. WUT researchers have decided to undertake the task.

In the competition for teacher grants, 11 projects will receive fundings.

Researchers at the Warsaw University of Technology are creating computer systems supporting doctors in medical diagnostics.

Scientists are working on a chemical reactor equipped with a smart semiconductive source of microwave power for the precise control of the nano-fertiliser synthesis process. 

The closing date for applications is 22 July 2022.

Although researchers have been looking for solutions facilitating the intensification of the process of methane fermentation for years, so far, they have failed to determine a method which each time would lead to an increase in biogas production. The reason remains unknown. WUT scientists are among the researchers who are trying to explain that. 

WUT scientists are working on a solution that will enable them to automatically generate a different complementary part (e.g. wiring) of the already completed part of a certain project (e.g. construction). The project is implemented within the SzIR-2 grant.

The intensive development of electromobility, including battery electric vehicles, motivates scientists including those from the Warsaw University of Technology to research the scope of the application of synchronous-reluctance motors in electric vehicle drives.

Under the Mobility PW programme, Konrad Kwatek, DSc, from the Faculty of Physics at WUT, visited the Materials Science Institute of Madrid to conduct research. His research findings may lead to the application of a new solid electrolyte in lithium-ion batteries in the future.

Scientists from the Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology at WUT are devising a new measurement method which facilitates obtaining highly sensitive, selective and, at the same time, universal sensor, and biosensor solutions. Research is conducted as part of the FOTECH-1 research grant.

The interdisciplinary, inter-faculty and inter-university laboratory has been started within a teacher grant and as part of Technologies of Conversion and Accumulation of Energy, which is a newly created specialisation at WUT.

Until 21st June technology teams with an idea for a product or service can apply to the Preincubation programme.

At the Faculty of Mechatronics at the WUT, a Pneumonitor was created, which allows to monitor the frequency and depth of breathing and also to associate these with the variability of the heart rhythm or the physical activity of the examined person. This is the first such "mobile" solution designed for long-term observation.

WUT announces the internal grant competition funded by the project ,,Excellence Initiative – Research University”, for the employees of the Warsaw University Technology supporting an application submitted in the European Research Council (ERC) competition.

Glioblastoma multiforme is one of the most invasive forms of primary brain cancers, and the average lifespan of the patient from the moment of diagnosis is about 12 months. A team of researchers from the Warsaw University of Technology, Polish Academy of Sciences, and Warsaw University is working on solutions which are to increase the effectiveness of chemotherapy and improve the comfort of living of a cancer patient.
