A new laboratory awaits students

The main objective of the project is the willingness to teach future graduates practical skills related to the specialist and professional courses they pursue. Such a need was indicated by both current graduates and their employers.

“The Laboratory will be a place where students will be able to independently solve problem tasks in the field of sanitary installations,” explains Professor Jarosław Chudzicki. “Practical classes will play an important part in the correct understanding of the entire project process with which students familiarise themselves during lectures and project classes. It will additionally allow the lecturers to make classes more attractive and activate students to creative work,” he says.

The Laboratory was established in room 544 in the WIBHiIŚ building. It contains specialised measuring and assembly stations facilitating independent assembly of parts of installations and devices, getting them started, and then measuring the characteristic parameters of their work.

The Laboratory will be used mainly by students of Environmental Engineering (WIBHiIŚ) and students of the Faculties of Architecture and Civil Engineering as part of the currently conducted classes related to building services (Building Services and Urban Infrastructure, mpiBIM). The creation of the new laboratory will also allow us to expand the courses offered by the Division of Water Supply and Wastewater Treatment.

The research conducted by the students will be carried out in consultation and cooperation with companies from the sanitary industry (Grohe – taps, installation frames, Wilo – pumping stations, Wavin – water and sewage installations, Kessel – anti-flooding devices).
