DEMO DAY
During the event, demonstrators prepared by the winners of the MedTech-Athon final will be presented. The competition jury selected these projects as projects with the most significant development potential and the most excellent chance of success in the commercialization process.
The first place in the final was taken by the Personal-Sensbox team for the project of creating a portable monitoring system for people suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Sensbox measures the level of selected air pollutants and warns about exceeding the standards. For the implementation of their project, the team received PLN 40,000 from the funds of the “Excellence Initiative - Research University” programme from the Research Centre Biotechnology and Biomedical Engineering.
The teams FluoFibers and Scienceporium took second place ex aequo. The first focused on an innovative method of detecting Alzheimer’s disease biomarkers using biomodified photonic systems, and the second team developed a biodegradable test kit for the early detection of the Lassa virus.
During the Demo Day, we will see how projects prepared by PhD students of the Warsaw University of Technology have been developed and we will meet the winning team. The prize is a research internship for doctoral students in a selected WUT unit.
The event will take place on February 28, 2023, at 17.00 at the Center for Advanced Materials and Technology of the Warsaw University of Technology CEZAMAT WUT at ul. Poleczki 19 in Warsaw Ursynów. The event will be held in English.
